Math Olympians

The Association of Christian Schools International held their Math Olympics last Saturday, March 28th.  Mrs. Reimer took students from Crossroads to Merced Christian to compete against students from Merced, Modesto, and Turlock.  Students had a choice of competing in computation or reasoning categories.  Our team consisted of Madison Mendoza, Logan Gomes, Victoria Arredondo, Nicholas Palmer, Mariana Fikse, Sydney Dykstra, Ashley Brar, Joel Harry, Christian Dudley, Jake Ross, Cody Burris, Pawan Brar, Chris Nomicos, and Isaac Meza.  We came home with the following 6 awards.
Madison Mendoza -3rd grade computation -  2nd place.  After 3 tests she was tied for 1st place.  The 4th test broke the tie.
Sydney Dykstra – 4th grade computation – 2nd place. 
Christian Dudley – 4th grade reasoning - 5th place
Pawan Brar – 5th grade computation - 4th place.  Pavan was tied for 2nd place after 3 tests.  The 4th test broke this tie as well.
Chris Nomicos – 5th grade reasoning, tied with 3 others for 5th place.  The 4th test placed him as 7th.
Isaac Meza – 6th grade computation - 3rd place.  Isaac was tied for 2nd place after 3 tests.   The 4th test broke that tie as well.
“I was so proud of the students.  It was a lot of hard work and LOTS of Math.  They did a great job”, commented Mrs. Reimer.
