Cross Country News
Crossroads’ seventh grader, Nik Lutz, came away with a first place finish at the MULES cross country meet at Madera High School on Friday, March 6. Students from Crossroads competed with all Madera High feeder schools as well as charter schools in Madera. The 3rd and 4th graders ran a 3/4 mile course, 5th and 6th a 1 mile course, and 7th and 8th graders a 2 mile course. Our athletes have been training with Coach Laura Graves, who actually ran a marathon in October, and all their hard work has paid off. The 3rd – 6th grade races each had well over 100 runners, while the 7th-8th race had around 50 participants. Congratulations for a job well done to the following students who represented our school: from 3rd grade – Victoria (13th), Cole (16th), Nicholas (26th), Mariana (37th), Manuel (37th), Bethany (50th), Samantha (72nd), Anna (75th); from 4th grade – Jake (11th), Sydney (11th), Abby (29th), Samuel (40th), Christian (41st); from 5th and 6th – John (13th), Isaac (15th), Caleb (19th), Austin (22nd), Tyler (37th), Christopher (40th), Johnny (46th); and from 7th-8th – Nik Lutz (1st place). These students give us all a good reminder to “press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14)
