First Grade visits Animal Shelter
On September 23 the first grade class from Crossroads Christian School visited the Madera County Animal Shelter. They collected items such as blankets, towels, newspapers, and food to donate to the shelter. Students were amazed at the number of animals waiting for adoption and learned how to care for these pets once they are taken home. “Not only did we see dogs and cats, but also horses, geese, and chickens. We wished we could have brought all the animals home!†commented teacher, Trina Prins. Principal Patty Dougherty added, “This was a great trip for the kids. It was not only educational but gave them an opportunity to give and be a blessing out in the community.â€
