Mathletes and Athletes

Students are working hard training minds and bodies for two special events to occur in March. Our 3rd-8th grade Math Olympics Team is preparing for their competition to be held at Merced Christian School on Saturday, March 27th. Out on the PE field 3rd-8th graders are preparing for the kick-off of the cross country season to be held Friday, March 5th at Madera High School. GO CRUSADERS…For His Glory!

Open House

Wednesday, February 10th 8:00-10:00 am

The public is invited to visit the campus on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 9-10. A brief orientation will be given followed by campus tours. There will be opportunities to visit with parents, staff, and students. Enrollment information will also be available. On Tuesday, music, yearbook/journalism, and P.E. classes may be observed as well as regular classroom instruction. On Wednesday, visitors are welcome to attend chapel services from 8:15-9:00. Greeters will be on hand to welcome and direct visitors to the meeting room. Parents, grandparents, and students are all welcome. Call the school office at 662-1624 for more information or just show up.

January Activities

We’re beginning the second semester of our school year with lots of activities! Friday, January 15th, began our 3rd annual talent show – Crossroads Has Talent! Second round will be held at 1:45 in the church sanctuary hosted by our student council on Thursday, January 28th. On Friday, January 22nd, we host visiting schools for the ACSI 5-8 grade District Spelling Bee. Our 100th Day of School will be on Tuesday, January 26th, and will be honored by observing Pajama Day. Principal Patty’s Perfect Pajama Day Pancakes will be served hot off the griddle by Mrs. Dougherty and our student council that morning. Our junior highers will be presenting their class production of the Book of Esther for an all-school chapel on Wednesday, January 27th. Finally our after school Mad Science program kicks off on Friday, January 29th as well.

Christmas Program

Will Hark figure out why she can’t sing in tune? Will Harmonious get her song written in time for Christmas? Come find out on Friday, December 18 at 11:00 am. Our Christmas musical, Hark the Angel Sang Off Key, will be held in the sanctuary of Grace Community Church. Join us for a time of worship through music and drama presented by the students of Crossroads Christian School.

Family Fun Night

Our 5th annual Harvest Festival, brought to you by the PTFC, will be Friday October 23rd from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Come and enjoy the games, food, and fellowship. This is a night for our families to come and have fun, meet new friends, and share some laughter. Don’t forget your dancing boots ’cause we will be line dancing. If you would like to help with this event, please contact your child’s teacher, or come to the PTFC meeting Tuesday, October 13th.

Visit our Book Fair

Crossroads’ Scholastic Book Fair is October 19th-23rd from 8:00 am-1:00 pm. Kids and parents can come and shop for picture books, chapter books, fiction and nonfiction, software, cookbooks, and many others. The book fair will also be open from 5:00 pm- 6:30 pm on Friday, October 23rd during the Harvest Festival. Dedication of New Classrooms

Friends and families of Grace Community Church and Crossroads Christian School celebrated the completion of four new modular buildings which are serving as classrooms and a school library/computer lab. After a two year long process the buildings were finally ready for use at the start of the 2009-2010 school year. The celebration began with a potluck followed by a time of worship and public thanks to those who worked so hard to make this addition a reality. Guests had an opportunity to visit the new classrooms and the evening concluded outside with a prayer of dedication to God’s service. Crossroads Christian School is an interdenominational K-8 school whose students, staff, and school board represent over 20 churches in Madera and the surrounding area.

It is time once again to begin the new school year. We are excited to see what God will do this 2009-2010 school year. If you are interested in seeing what Crossroads is about you are welcome to attend our events or call the office for more information. Here are some dates for you, our school families, to put on your calendar as we get underway.

Thursday, August 13 – New Family Orientation @ 6:30 pm
Monday, August 17 – First Day of School (8:00 am start time)
Tuesday, August 18 – Back to School Night PTFC will host a hot dog/tri-tip sandwich BBQ @ 5:30. At 6:30 we will move indoors for an orientation meeting followed by visits to your child’s classroom.
Sunday, August 23 – Celebration of New Classrooms We will meet with Grace Community Church and the local community to give thanks to God for seeing us through the process of adding four new rooms to our campus. More details will soon be available.
