2023/2024 ELECTIVE CLASSES

Elective classes are offered to our 1st through 8th grade students. 

Music Appreciation

  • Students will study music composers and learn the basics of playing the recorder and hand bells.

STEM Building

  • Students will participate in challenges where they are able to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math. Students will participate in problem solving as an individual as well as a group. Students will be able to apply creativity as well as innovation skills.

Home Arts

  • Students will be empowered with essential home and life skills. Centered around hands-on learning, this elective explores basic cooking techniques, fundamental sewing practices, and other invaluable home crafts. Rooted in creativity and practicality, Home Art promotes self-reliance and fosters a deeper appreciation for the art of daily living.

Spanish

  • Students will learn the Spanish alphabet & basic Spanish vocabulary through songs, group practice, and videos. Students will also learn a Bible verse & song in Spanish that  we will perform at the Spring Showcase. My hope also is that they can use what they learn for any future Mission Trips or Outreach opportunities.

Drama

  • Students will learn basic theatre principles in stage movement, vocal diction, and pantomime. Students will perform in the class and for the school in chapels and special occasions such as the showcase. 

Sports

  • Students will develop skills for numerous organized sports such as volleyball, soccer, basketball, and more.

Scrapbooking

  • Students will add photos, memorabilia, journaling, and embellishments to a blank scrapbook to preserve special memories.  *Students will need to bring photos they want to work with for their project, and purchase a scrapbook of any size at Target, Hobby Lobby or Amazon before class starts.

Yearbook

  • Students will dive into a creative collaboration of journalism, photography, and design. Students will work together to craft the school's yearbook, capturing memories, faces, and events. From writing articles and taking photographs to designing layouts, this class offers a unique opportunity to create a lasting keepsake of the school year. Perfect for aspiring journalists, photographers, or anyone looking to be part of a meaningful project!
