Every Student, Every Day!
TK - 9th Grade Programs
CCS provides a quality, academically challenging, Christ-centered education for every student. Class sizes are small and provide extensive opportunity for student-teacher interaction. Our K-8 Program is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International. Each day's instruction begins with worship, prayer, and Bible class. We utilize curriculum from a variety of Christian publishers including ABeka, Purposeful Design, BJU Press, and Positive Action. Teachers integrate biblical truth into each subject area. Our students also participate in academic extra-curricular events such as ACSI Spelling Bees and Math Olympics, Science Fair, and Language Arts Festival. Curriculum is annually reviewed by staff and administration.
To supplement our academic program, students in first through ninth grades also take an elective class. Course offerings this year include worship team, drama, music, American Sign Language, gardening, and boxing. Our students' accomplishments during the year are celebrated with a Spring Showcase.
Each class at CCS schedules fun and educational field trips to enhance learning. A few of our traditional field trips include the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, Pumpkin Patch, 4th grade train trip to the Capitol Building in Sacramento, 5th-6th Science Camp, and 7th-8th bi-annual Washington DC trip.
Physical Education and Athletics
Physical education classes are taught collaboratively by classroom teachers four days a week. Fifth through eighth graders also participate in the Madera Unified League of Elementary School (MULES) athletics in girls and boys volleyball, basketball, soccer, flag football, and track. Our third through eighth graders also participate in cross country.
TK-9 School Day
The school day begins at 8:00 am. TK-Kindergarten is dismissed at 1:45 pm. First through Twelfth grades are dismissed at 2:45 pm. Students have a 20 minute morning recess and a 40 minute lunch break. Wednesday is an early release day at 1:45 for all grades to allow for teachers' professional development.
Crusader Care for TK-9
Before school care is available daily beginning at 7:00 am. After school care is available daily until 5:30 pm. Our after school program is a safe and nurturing environment for your children. The after school care schedule includes homework/quiet reading time, indoor and outdoor activities, and an afternoon snack.
Chapel is held every Wednesday for all students. This is a time for students to be challenged in their walk with the Lord through worship and relevant lessons. Chapel is split with TK-3rd and 4th-9th grades meeting together. Teachers, staff members, youth pastors, and other ministry leaders from the community provide engaging messages and music. Special events, such as Honors Award Assemblies and Grandparents' Day, are celebrated with all school chapels as our student worship team opens by leading us all in worship. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to attend.
CCS is blessed with wonderful playground facilities which include a large covered eating area, two playground-structures, grass play area, beautiful basketball and volleyball courts, and a multi-purpose field for softball, football, and soccer.
